Becoming a mom is no joke. It comes with a lot of shifts and transitions mentally, emotionally, relationally, bodily, and in identity. It is one the most major shifts in human experience, yet it so misunderstood and not talked about enough. It completely changes a person and sometimes can come with unexpected experiences that are hard to process or understand. Becoming a mom myself made me want to learn more and help other women go through this crazy experience but find help and support that I needed. Part of my work with women is teaching them about matrescence (the transition into motherhood) because pregnancy & postpartum feel out of your control, having knowledge can give a little bit more power back to them. I take from a few different approaches to fit the needs of my clients. ACT supports women to live by their values regardless of their internal thoughts or emotions, IFS helps understand the different roles and identities that sometimes feel at odds with each others, EMDR helps you brain process hard situations that may keep you up at night, ERP support those scary thoughts to be just that...scary thoughts and live your life how you want to again. Work with me is supportive but challenging when needed. Show up as you are without expectation to love every second of motherhood because it's hard work.
