Introduction

Hello, I'm Colleen Innis, MA, LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor and co-owner of True Journey Counseling Group. My journey into counseling began long before I entered the profession. I have always been a natural listener and found that friends, family, and even acquaintances often sought me out for support, guidance, and a different perspective. Known for being open-minded, compassionate, and practical, I have always enjoyed helping others navigate life's challenges by balancing empathy with thoughtful, solution-focused conversations. As a teen mother, I learned firsthand the importance of resilience, perseverance, and having support during difficult times. Those experiences strengthened my desire to help others and inspired me to pursue a career dedicated to healing and personal growth. I began my professional path in social work before transitioning into counseling, where I found my true calling. Today, I am passionate about helping children, teens, and adults develop the tools they need to overcome obstacles, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change in their lives. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences while building confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills. My approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I believe that every person has strengths that can be cultivated and that healing begins when people feel heard, understood, and empowered. I am currently accepting new clients for in-person play therapy for children ages 3–12, as well as in-person counseling for teens ages 13–18. I also provide in-person and telehealth counseling for adults. Whether your child is struggling with emotional regulation, anxiety, behavioral concerns, grief, life transitions, or social challenges, or you are an adolescent or adult seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, stress, self-esteem, or personal growth, I am committed to helping you move toward healing and lasting change. Together, we will identify your strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and create a path forward that aligns with your goals, values, and vision for the future.
