In our work together I use a polyvagal informed, existential and relational approach to help you understand how your emotions and nervous system interact to find meaning and acceptance in struggle. Through talk, play and expressive art therapies we can learn what stories you've been carrying and their impact on how you interact with the world without banishing the parts of yourself that need to be heard and served a function in the past. My goal as a therapist is to provide a warm, playful, authentic, compassionate and curious presence in a comfortable, responsive and affirming environment for people to learn more about themselves, their sensory and relational needs. Through this process we can recognize what unmet needs are showing up and what adjustments will create a more balanced life going forward. With a background in nature-based early childhood education I learned how important play, being with nature, creativity and connection can be in our human development. Learning to regulate behaviorally, cognitively, emotionally, sensorily, isn't something we are born with, it's something we learn through observation and experience. I am here to listen, teach and tinker with what types or regulatory resources might work for you and your unique system.
