Introduction

You’re the one people count on. You show up at work, for your family, for your relationships, and for everyone who needs you. From the outside, it may even look like you have it all together, but somewhere along the way, you may have realized that you’ve been taking care of everyone except yourself. I’m Cortni John, LPC-Associate, and I created Becoming Counseling & Wellness to provide women with a space where they don’t have to perform, have all the answers, or hold everything together. I work with women navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, depression, and the lasting impact of past experiences and trauma. I provide therapy for all women, with a special focus on supporting Black women and the unique experiences that can come with carrying multiple roles and expectations. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. Using person-centered, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and behavioral approaches, we’ll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck while building tools that support where you want to go next. Therapy with me isn’t about becoming an entirely different person—it’s about making room to reconnect with yourself, understand yourself more deeply, and intentionally grow into the woman you’re becoming. Your journey to BECOMING starts here.
