Introduction

While our experiences shape us, they do not have to define us. I believe every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change when given the right support, tools, and opportunities. My work is rooted in the belief that mental health is an essential part of overall well being and that caring for ourselves emotionally, relationally, and psychologically creates the foundation for healthier individuals, stronger relationships, and thriving communities. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and military communities navigating life's challenges and transitions. My approach is collaborative, direct, and grounded in genuine connection. I believe therapy should be both supportive and purposeful, helping people gain insight, strengthen relationships, build confidence, and create meaningful movement toward the life they want to live. As an active duty military spouse, I understand firsthand the unique demands military life can place on individuals and families. This experience has fueled my passion for improving access to quality mental health care and advocating for those who often face barriers to receiving support. Beyond the therapy room, I regularly engage in community advocacy, professional mentorship, public speaking, and collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening mental health awareness, expanding access to care, and supporting military connected families and communities. I am a firm believer in the power of community. These experiences continue to shape my perspective and reinforce the importance of connection, service, and showing up for others. I am also the founder and owner of Barber Family Counseling & Wellness, where I oversee clinical services, support the development of clinicians, and work to cultivate a practice culture centered on excellence, integrity, and compassionate care. Whether I am providing therapy, mentoring clinicians, speaking to organizations, or partnering with community leaders, my goal remains the same: helping people and systems grow stronger, healthier, and more connected. Outside of my professional roles, I am a military spouse, and the mother of three daughters, two dogs and a beardie. We have been in Coloado for 10 years and I still never tire of the view. Whether you are seeking therapy, looking for a speaker, exploring collaboration opportunities, or working to strengthen mental health within your organization or community, I am passionate about helping people create meaningful and lasting change.
