Introduction

I believe therapy works best when you feel understood, respected, and able to show up as yourself. For more than 20 years, I have worked in helping professions, and my approach as a therapist is warm, relational, and grounded in the belief that our thoughts, behaviors, and ways of coping make sense when we understand where they came from. Often, the patterns that create difficulty in our lives today developed for very good reasons. Therapy gives us the opportunity to understand those patterns, work through what is keeping them in place, and create room for something different. I specialize in trauma, attachment, anxiety, relationship patterns, and the lasting impact of difficult or overwhelming life experiences. As an EMDR Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant, I have extensive training in EMDR and trauma-informed treatment, particularly in working with complex trauma and experiences that continue to affect how people see themselves, relate to others, and move through the world. My style is engaged, compassionate, and collaborative. I’m not a therapist who simply sits back and listens. I’ll help you make connections, notice patterns, understand what may be happening beneath the surface, and determine what actually needs to change. At the same time, I believe you are the expert on your own experience, and our work should reflect your goals, your pace, and what feels meaningful to you. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable adults who have spent years functioning well on the outside while carrying much more internally. You may understand why you feel or behave a certain way and still find that insight alone hasn’t changed it. That is often where deeper therapeutic work can help. Therapy isn't about becoming a different person. It's about healing what has gotten in the way of feeling connected to yourself, your relationships, and the life you want to be living. If you're looking for a therapist who will bring experience, curiosity, warmth, and genuine engagement to the work, I would be glad to connect with you.
