Introduction

You find yourself constantly saying yes to others because the past has taught you that your worth= your work. You don’t want it to be this way, but you’ve been doing this since you were a young child. What is “this”?…. -Meeting the emotional needs of others to keep the peace -Taking on additional responsibilities to ensure that things run smoothly -Putting your wants and needs on the back burner -“Going with the flow” -Feeling pressure to be perfect and struggling to accept your mistakes -Struggling to relax no matter how many self-care activities you do -Being the mediator or go-to relative for your parents and/or siblings “Responsible”, “leader”, “so mature for her age” used to be badges of honor, but now there’s just piles of pressure to do more and be there for everyone else. You want to ask for help because you know you need it, but you don’t want to seem weak or needy. You’re an eldest daughter, you’re used to handling it all. But when you allow yourself to slow down, you realize that you don’t know yourself apart from work. In our work together, I'll support you in investing the time and attention it takes to come home to yourself, nurture your voice, connect with your inner strength, and own your confidence. You’ll work to practice taking up space, saying no, and cultivating relationships where you give yourself permission to be seen authentically. I want to see you thrive and will use humor and a direct approach to challenge you to self-reflect, name your needs, and clearly share them with others in your life. As an eldest daughter myself, I see you and hold space for you to authentically be. You deserve all of the care that you so freely give. Confidence and peace await you on the other side of this work. Will you say “yes” to you?
