I obtained my PhD from the University of Utah (specialty concentration Children, Adolescents, & Families) and completed my predoctoral residency and postdoctoral fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. I am trained broadly in several evidence-based modalities for treating a wide range of clinical issues, including depression, anxiety, and stressful family dynamics. Additionally, I have sought years of specialized training in order to provide trauma-focused interventions to children and adolescents who have been exposed to a potentially abusive or traumatic event and who may be experiencing elevated posttraumatic stress symptoms. Further, I have expertise in working with adolescents who are engaging in various risk behaviors, including substance use, and adolescents who may be experiencing legal involvement due to their behaviors. My clinical approach typically combines strategies from several research-based frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and, when appropriate, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
