Hi! I’m Cyn (they/them), a queer, non-binary, bilingual first-generation therapist. I offer my identity markers as openers to connection, especially if sharing these identities with a therapist is important to you. For the past few years, I have been working as a community mental health therapist for mostly Spanish-speaking youth and their families. Regardless of age, you can expect a warm and attuned presence in our sessions. Whether it is your first time seeking therapy or if this is your point of reconnection with therapy, meeting you where you are in your journey is really important to me. My approach is influenced by what works best for you and where you are in your journey, whether it is a more top down approach (such as narrative therapy, DBT and ACT) or a more bottom up approach (somatic, Internal Family Systems). I am a strong believer that healing happens when we are in relationship to ourselves, to others, and to our surrounding environments. The weight of surviving capitalism makes authentic connection to the people and things we love really hard. The shared presence we will hold during our sessions is the invitation for your entire personhood to guide your journey to authentic and full connection, sin vergüenza.* *sin vergüenza is Spanish for “without shame.” Although the phrase is often used in a derogatory remark, I use the term sin vergüenza as a reclamation of our personhood and an invitation to live in authenticity.
