Introduction

I'm Dan Curcio, M.ED, LPC, NCC, and the founder of Calm 2 Your Senses Counseling, LLC. My path into this work started long before I became a therapist. Living with muscular dystrophy has shaped how I understand challenge, resilience, frustration, creativity, and self-compassion. It has also shaped how I connect with people. I know what it means to keep adapting, to carry things others may not fully see, and to keep building a life anyway. I value real connection in therapy. Many of the people I work with carry a lot - stress, grief, pressure, health challenges, big life questions, or simply the exhaustion of always having to keep going. On the outside, they may seem like they are managing well. Inside, they may feel overwhelmed, worn down, or disconnected. I try to offer a space that feels honest, grounded, and human, where you don't have to pretend you're fine or have everything figured out. At Calm 2 Your Senses Counseling, therapy is shaped around you and what you need, not forced into a formula. My goal is to help people understand themselves more clearly, reconnect with their calm, trust their strengths, and move forward in a way that feels steadier and more true. To me, therapy is about more than just getting through. It is about making room for self-understanding, growth, and a life that feels more manageable, meaningful, and your own.
