Introduction

About My Clients The prospect of starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but prioritizing your mental health is important and necessary to create balance and to maintain emotional stability. I am here to provide support to those who struggle with anxiety, stress, depression or who need help navigating difficult life transitions and changes. My Background and Approach My name is Dana Meadows and I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years in clinical experience working with adults, teens and children in community mental health centers, hospitals and correctional and residential treatment facilities. I have my LCSW supervisory certificate and have a number of years experience working with people on the autism spectrum. I use a strengths based perspective and consistently practice cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative effort. We will work together to identify goals and to help find the most effective strategies to bring peace and stability to your life. My clinical interests and specializations include anxiety disorders, stress management, mood disorders and adjustment to life transitions. My philosophy of care is to find the right treatment modality for each client in order to provide the best care possible. I utilize a strength-based approach in order to foster feelings of self-worth and confidence to be motivated for change. I believe it is important to collaborate and work as a team with my clients to help them meet their goals and to find peace within themselves even when life seems unstable or out of control. My interest in mental health care comes from my innate desire to help others and to listen to their life stories. It’s been a drive and a mission in my life to be able to provide guidance and mental health support to those hoping to gain emotional stability. My Personal Beliefs and Interests Although therapy can sometimes be a difficult process, it doesn't have to be! I incorporate fun and humor into the therapeutic process because it can be part of healing. I believe pets are healing. I am huge advocate for animals and animal rescue. I am a LGBTQ+ ally and support local gun control activism. To decompress, I enjoy building Lego sets, listening to music and watching movies. I love going to concerts and sporting events in my spare and try to never stop laughing. “Be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.” ― Max Ehrmann.
