Depression, anxiety, painful patterns in relationships, a sense of self that feels unsteady or hidden, the long shadow of trauma, the upheaval of later-life transitions: these rarely yield to advice or quick techniques. I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and groups, in person in Annapolis and by telehealth. I work closely and relationally to deepen self-understanding and loosen patterns that keep repeating, and where it helps I integrate somatic, mindfulness-based, and EMDR approaches. I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) with a Ph.D. and MSW from the University of Chicago and four-year psychoanalytic trainings in Washington, DC and New York. The work is unhurried, aimed at change that comes from understanding rather than from managing symptoms. More about my approach at danjonpsychotherapy.com.
