Dr. Daniel Lavin is a patient-centered psychiatrist who is double board-certified in General and Addition Psychiatry offering compassionate support for individuals seeking help with depression, anxiety, opioid addiction, alcohol addiction, and other mental health concerns. With advanced training through an accredited addiction psychiatry fellowship, Dr. Lavin brings specialized expertise in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and evidence-based care for substance use disorders. He is committed to creating a safe, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take the next steps toward lasting recovery and emotional well-being. Dr. Lavin proudly serves individuals and families throughout the greater Austin, Texas region. 2. What conditions do you treat? We provide care for a wide range of mental health and substance use conditions, including: Depression Anxiety disorders Bipolar disorder Opioid use disorder Alcohol use disorder Other substance-related conditions We use evidence-based treatment approaches, including medication management and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). 3. Do you offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)? Yes. We offer MAT for opioid and alcohol use disorders using proven medications such as buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone®) and others when clinically appropriate. MAT is combined with mental health support and ongoing monitoring to help patients achieve long-term recovery. 4. How much does treatment cost? Bird Creek Behavioral Health does not accept insurance at this time. We keep pricing simple and transparent: Monthly Membership: $150 Includes ongoing care, medication management, MAT (if appropriate), and follow-up appointments. Single Consultation: $400 A one-time comprehensive psychiatric evaluation with individualized treatment recommendations. (Great for patients seeking a one-time expert opinion or treatment plan.) There are no hidden charges, and patients are never billed through insurance. 5. Do I need a referral to become a patient? No. You can schedule an appointment directly. A referral is not required for any service we offer. 6. Do you offer telehealth appointments? Yes. We provide secure telehealth visits for patients throughout Central Texas, including: Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Temple, Killeen, Waco, San Marcos, and surrounding communities. 7. What should I expect during my first visit? Your first appointment includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We will discuss: Your symptoms and history Previous treatments Mental health and substance use concerns Your goals and preferences From there, we create a personalized treatment plan that may include therapy referrals, medication management, MAT, or lifestyle recommendations. 8. What areas do you serve? We care for patients in Austin and within roughly 200 miles of the region, including: Round Rock, Georgetown, San Marcos, Temple, Waco, Killeen, Bastrop, and surrounding Central Texas communities. Outside of this area? Not a problem! We offer video-based appointments in most cases. 9. Do you prescribe controlled medications? Yes, when clinically appropriate and safe. Controlled medications—including MAT medications—are prescribed following federal guidelines, close monitoring, and individual assessment. 10. How do I get started? You can book your first appointment online or contact our clinic directly. We’ll walk you through the simple intake process and help you begin care right away.
