Dan Meyer is a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Colorado Christian University. He works with individuals with a wide range of needs, from trauma and PTSD to anxiety, depression, grief, and ADHD. Dan has a background in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, which informs his holistic, neuroscience-based approach to mental health. Dan’s counseling philosophy is centered on compassion, empathy, and safety. He believes that to understand your present, you must first be seen and heard, so he provides a non-judgmental space for you to explore healing at your own pace. His approach is trauma-informed and shifts the focus from "what is wrong with you" to "what happened to you." He uses an integrated, evidence-based approach that combines several therapeutic modalities to fit your unique needs. Some of the techniques Dan uses include: Narrative Therapy: Helps you rewrite your life story and reclaim your identity from past pain and trauma. Person-Centered Therapy: Creates a safe, accepting space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns to create healthier perspectives. EMDR: An evidence-based method for processing trauma and distressing memories. Mindfulness and Grounding Practices: Helps you restore a sense of calm and safety when feeling overwhelmed. Dan offers in-person and virtual sessions for individuals and families in Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Golden, and across the Denver Front Range.
