My journey to becoming a therapist began through my own personal experiences with overcoming grief and loss of a parent at the age of 19, surviving domestic abuse, and healing physically, emotionally, and spiritually from Lyme disease. My entire life I have aligned with being highly sensitive, engaging in a life of creative endeavors including singing/songwriting and various forms of creative writing. My own experiences have greatly shaped who I am today and lead me into the study of psychology, spirituality, and somatic healing modalities. Prior to opening my private practice, I have worked in substance abuse treatment, hospital acute care, domestic violence shelter support, Veterans' treatment court, and school-based social work. I enjoy working with clients ready to do deep inner transformative work. I enjoy connecting with those who may feel highly sensitive, creative, open-minded, and/or spiritual. My specialty lies in trauma work, with trauma often presenting in our lives as anxiety, disconnection from ourselves and others, and keeping us feeling "stuck". I use a holistic mind-body-spirit connection approach and EMDR to help clients overcome any past trauma that is causing negative symptoms and holding them back in life and in relationships. This allows me to help clients greatly reduce feelings of anxiety and improve their relationships. As a clinical social worker, I have a strong passion for helping women through the lens of intersectional feminism. I routinely engage in various trainings for continued development of my skills as an EMDR and somatic therapist using an IFS (Internal Family Systems)-informed lens. I enjoy taking regular trainings for spiritual growth and incorporating holistic perspective into my work with clients. More recently I have sought training in areas of art and creativity for processing trauma as well as specialty training in EMDR for neurodiverse clients. I am fully certified in EMDR through EMDRIA.
