Introduction

Hi, I’m Elle Schlittler, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor. I created Mental Haven Counseling with a simple but powerful intention: to offer a space where people feel genuinely heard, deeply understood, and fully in control of their own healing process. My path into counseling was shaped by a strong foundation in psychology, research, and clinical practice, along with a deep respect for how complex and personal each individual’s story is. Over time, I found that what clients often need most isn’t to be “fixed,” but to be met without pressure, judgment, or being rushed. I am licensed to provide therapy in Florida, Texas, South Carolina, and Virginia (LMHC/LPC), allowing me to support clients across multiple states with consistency and care. I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the long-term process of healing and self-discovery. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices such as EMDR, while also being flexible and collaborative in a person-centered approach. I tailor each session to the person in front of me, because no two journeys look the same. In our work together, you are in the driver’s seat. Think of me as a guide alongside you, offering insight, direction, and support, while you set the pace and choose the path forward. Therapy with me is not about pushing you toward change before you’re ready, but about helping you build clarity, confidence, and trust in yourself so that change feels possible and sustainable. Mental Haven Counseling is a place for you to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels safe and empowering. If you’ve ever felt like “no one quite gets it,” my goal is to change that.
