Hi! I am Darion, a trauma-focused Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and owner of Guiding Star Therapy in the Northland of Kansas City, MO. I provide therapy for athletes, children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families with clients experiencing: • Trauma & PTSD • Anxiety • Depression • Relationship concerns • Women’s issues • Men's Issues • Pregnancy & postpartum • Grief & loss • Substance use • Life transitions • Co-occurring mental health disorders I utilize evidence-based approaches including Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, and other therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s needs. In addition to my master’s degree in counseling, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, allowing me to incorporate an understanding of the mind-body connection when working with athletes and individuals who want to optimize both their mental and physical performance. My goal is to help clients process difficult experiences, build healthy coping skills, strengthen resilience, and develop greater confidence and emotional well-being.
