David Bernard is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who believes that even during life's most difficult moments, people are often stronger than they realize. His goal is to help clients recognize those strengths as they heal, grow, and move forward. David became a therapist because he enjoys helping people. He provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can gain clarity about the challenges they are facing, build on their own strengths, and work collaboratively toward meaningful treatment goals. Before entering the mental health profession, David spent several decades as a broadcast meteorologist covering some of the worst storms and disasters of our time. Witnessing people navigate crisis, loss, and recovery profoundly shaped his understanding of human struggle and the remarkable capacity people have to adapt and persevere. David earned his Master of Social Work degree from Tulane University. His clinical experience includes working with patients experiencing chronic pain in the Functional Restoration Program at Ochsner Hospital and serving as a clinician for two years in the Department of Psychiatry at Tulane University School of Medicine. He works with adults and is committed to creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, collaboration, and respect. If you are interested in working with David, he offers a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your goals, answer your questions, and determine whether his approach is the right fit for your needs.
