David J. Drobes, Ph.D., is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Florida and a Diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Drobes received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University in 1993, specializing in health/medical psychology. He completed his clinical internship at the University of Florida, followed by post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Florida (Clinical Psychophysiology) and the Medical University of South Carolina (Substance Abuse). He currently holds faculty positions at the Moffitt Cancer Center (Senior Member Emeritus) and the University of South Florida (Courtesy Professor). Dr. Drobes has extensive clinical and research experience working with tobacco, alcohol, and other forms of addiction, as well as anxiety and mood disorders. He also has expertise as a Certified Health Professional in Lifestyle Medicine. His clinical practice is primarily focused on helping clients address psychological barriers to physical and mental health. His therapeutic orientation and modalities are derived from cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, positive psychology, and motivational interviewing.
