I am a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of psychosis. I have more than 20 years experience providing psychotherapy for individuals who experience psychosis and related conditions. My clinical approach is rooted in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for psychosis (CBTp) - an evidence-based treatment recommended by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) for the treatment for psychosis. I am licensed in NJ and NY and offer treatment in >40 states via PSYPACT accreditation. I completed a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship in schizophrenia research in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. Following my postdoctoral training, I joined the department’s faculty where I served for 10 years. During this period, I also served as a Beck Institute Scholar at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, where I completed advanced CBTp training. In 2018, I joined the Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where I served for 8 years as a tenured Associate Professor, the Program Leader for New Interventions in Schizophrenia, and the Director of the Experimental Psychopathology Laboratory. In my academic work, I have published more than 85 peer-reviewed research articles, book chapters, and books focusing on psychosis and schizophrenia. My work has been featured by NBC News, Scientific American, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, Reuters Health, U.S. News & World Report, ABC News, Yahoo News, Reddit, ReachMD, and others.
