Introduction

Public Bio – Deanna Scraggs, LMSW Founder | RealTalk Coaching & Consulting. Deanna Scraggs is a Licensed Master Social Worker, coach, and consultant with more than a decade of experience helping individuals and organizations create meaningful, lasting change. Her work is rooted in mindfulness, behavioral health, and real-world problem solving — blending clinical training with practical strategies that help people move forward faster and with improved confidence. Deanna’s career began her career as an intern for Tennessee State Foster Care system, she quickly became a full time employee and began an internship in Tennessee State (QSR) quality service reviews. The time spent assisted her in becoming the clinician today as she looks at things on a macro, mezzo, & micro level and complete internal reviews/audits. Deanna has many years of being a formal support for individuals and families through high-stress, life-changing situations and outcomes. She later moved into leadership within Tennessee’s child welfare system, where her team was recognized statewide for innovative practices in collaboration, permanency planning, and systems improvement. Across every role, she saw the same theme: people often don’t need years of support — they need the right insight, structure, and accountability at the right time. Deanna loves working with people SO MUCH, she decided to grow her skills again and began working as a clinician in a geriatric psych unit. This unit had 10-14 beds at any given time. While she enjoyed the people very much, she didn’t enjoy the way families were treated by the hospital or the newly attained skill of discharge planning. That realization led her to create RealTalk Coaching & Wellness, a practice designed for people and organizations ready to grow, make decisions, and take action.
