Debi Huckaby Associate Licensed Professional Counselor (APC), National Certified Counselor (NCC) Starting therapy can feel overwhelming—especially if you're used to pushing through on your own or you're not quite sure what you need yet. You may appear to have everything together while privately feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Whether you're navigating a difficult relationship, recovering from painful experiences, questioning your career or purpose, or simply longing to feel more like yourself again, you don't have to figure it out alone. I work with adults, couples, and college students experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, substance use, career uncertainty, and major life transitions. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside but exhausted on the inside. They aren't looking for quick fixes—they're looking for lasting change. My approach is warm, relational, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. Together, we'll explore not only what's happening today but also the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself, relate to others, and respond to life's challenges. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered to move toward a more connected and meaningful life. My clinical training includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Externship training for couples, and certification as a SYMBIS Facilitator for premarital counseling. I am also a Certified Enneagram Coach and may incorporate the Enneagram as a tool for self-awareness and personal growth when it aligns with your goals. I integrate these approaches thoughtfully, tailoring therapy to each client's unique needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Clients often come to me for support with: * Anxiety and chronic stress * Trauma and difficult life experiences * Relationship struggles and communication challenges * Premarital counseling * Career transitions, identity shifts, and finding purpose * Depression and emotional exhaustion * Substance use and recovery * College and young adult transitions * Faith and spirituality (when desired by the client) I believe meaningful healing happens through curiosity, compassion, and connection. Therapy isn't about becoming someone different—it's about understanding yourself more fully so you can move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and hope. I provide in-person counseling through Oconee Counseling in Athens, Georgia, as well as telehealth services for clients throughout the state of Georgia. If you're ready to begin, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
