I've spent over two decades working in mental health, including more than 16 years as a licensed clinician. My background spans juvenile justice, substance use treatment, psychiatric and emergency mental health, hospital social work, police crisis response, clinical supervision, and private practice. Over those years, I kept coming back to the same problem: people can understand themselves remarkably well and still find themselves doing the same things. The McInnis Method grew out of trying to understand what actually closes that gap. My style is active, curious, and direct. I'll ask questions, tell you what I'm noticing, and push back when something doesn't add up. I want you to tell me when I'm getting something wrong too. We look at what's driving the pattern, what it has been protecting you from, what it's costing you now, and what becomes possible when you can respond differently.
