Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when life feels heavy, confusing, or you find yourself caught between who you are, where you come from, and who you’re becoming. I work with adults navigating anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, self-esteem, relationships, boundaries, identity, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and relational. Rather than telling you what to do, I’ll walk alongside you as we explore your experiences, better understand the patterns shaping your life, and work toward changes that feel authentic to you. My foundation is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I incorporate principles and skills from other therapeutic approaches based on your individual needs and goals. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all. Your relationships, family, culture, values, and lived experiences all play a role in shaping our work together. While I welcome clients from all backgrounds, I have a particular interest in working with adult children of immigrants and those navigating the first-generation experience. This can include balancing multiple cultures, navigating family and generational expectations, setting boundaries, developing your own identity, and figuring out what it means to honor where you come from while creating a life that feels like your own. As a Bosnian immigrant and daughter of refugees, I bring both professional experience and a personal understanding of how culture, family history, migration, and identity can shape our lives. My background also includes work in psychiatric settings, refugee support programs, and community mental health. I strive to create a space where culture is welcomed into the conversation, and you don’t have to leave important parts of yourself at the door. If you’re looking for a space to better understand yourself, feel more grounded in who you are, and move forward with greater confidence, I’d be glad to connect.
