Dominique Fortson-Jordan (she/her) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and Substance Use Disorder Professional who brings advocacy, cultural awareness, and deep respect into every therapeutic space. Her path into this work began in systems where mental health was treated as a luxury instead of a necessity — and where addiction was often misunderstood as a choice rather than a complex health condition. Witnessing those gaps in care shaped her commitment to education, equity, and accessible support. Becoming a therapist was not just a career decision for Dominique — it was a calling to help change the narrative. Dominique has spent much of her professional journey working within marginalized communities, supporting individuals navigating substance use, systemic barriers, trauma, and mental health challenges. She understands that healing does not happen in isolation from culture, identity, and lived experience. Her work is especially meaningful for individuals from historically excluded or underserved communities who are seeking a safe, affirming space to process their story. Dominique believes that therapy should feel collaborative, empowering, and rooted in authenticity — a place where clients are honored as the experts of their own lives. Clients often describe Dominique as open, grounded, and genuinely present. Her hope is that after the first session, clients feel seen, heard, and hopeful that they have found a supportive place to move through their healing journey.
