Dominique has experience working intensively in outpatient community health, long-term residential and inpatient hospital settings. She believes that each person is different, and so each treatment must creatively and dynamically adapt to and evolve with these differences. Therapy is a genuine meeting of the minds that requires individual adaptation to your particular circumstances, needs, identities, and desires. She views people’s struggles as learned adaptations to survive in an imperfect world, rather than personal weakness or sickness – as such, psychological symptoms hold meaning and are communicating something that can be understood. People who work with her appreciate her willingness to collaboratively reflect on the unfolding therapy process, share what’s on her mind, and position herself as an open and non-judgmental co-investigator, rather than the authority in the room.
