For more than eight years, I have worked alongside children, teens, young adults, and families within the child welfare and foster care systems. Through this work, I have supported young people navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, developmental and cognitive differences, and the many complexities that can come with significant life transitions. One of the most important things this experience has taught me is that lasting change rarely happens in isolation. When families are given the opportunity to strengthen communication, better understand one another, and begin functioning as a connected unit rather than individual pieces, meaningful change can take root. As an intern, I bring extensive experience into the therapy room while continuing my clinical education and development. My approach draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy. Together, we can explore the patterns influencing your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while also making room for the deeper questions of identity, purpose, relationships, and who you are becoming. At the heart of my work is the belief that you are more than what has happened to you. You are not your trauma, your diagnosis, your career, your most difficult moment, or what someone may have written about you in a file. Your experiences are an important part of your story, but they do not have to become the entirety of your identity.
