Hello! I am Doris and it is a pleasure to meet you! I have been privileged to work with many wonderful people toward support and healing. I pride myself on being warm, accepting, and compassionate, and I genuinely care about my clients. My approach is eclectic and integrated, drawing on holistic methods that incorporate mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and expressive arts. I bring lived experience and 40+ years of practice to my work including teaching social work students in higher education, leading anger management and batterers intervention groups, and training mental health clinicians. It is my goal to create a welcoming, safe space for you to be supported toward achieving your goals. I use a strengths-based approach to support clients dealing with depression, anxiety, life transitions, adoption, grief and loss, and relationship issues and work with teens, adolescents and adults. I appreciate the importance of being heard, accepted and the vulnerability that can come with trusting someone to hold space for you, where you can be yourself and begin to realize your strongest sense of self.
