Douglas Farias Mariano is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (North Carolina). Douglas received his Master of Social Work Degree from Simmons University in Boston, MA in 2022. Douglas is bilingual, offering therapy services in both English and Portuguese. Douglas has worked in the mental health field since 2017, providing mentoring services, in-home therapy services, and outpatient therapy in the school setting along with group and private practice settings. Douglas specializes in working with individuals, couples and families to improve communication through understanding and engagement. He works with individuals of all ages, with a focus on young adults and couples. Douglas is a facilitator of Prepare & Enrich and provides counseling for pre-marital and married couples through this model. He utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. Douglas has experience treating clients with depression, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, ADHD, low self-esteem, interpersonal relationship challenges, communication challenges, complex family dynamics, parenting challenges, and marital challenges among other topics.
