Introduction

If you want to stop thinking of your mental health distress as illness and start understanding it as psychological or nervous system injury, you will likely appreciate my therapy approach. I provide Mindful-Somatic Trauma Therapy and it is for those who want to stop talking about their injuries or trauma (for severe injury) and start healing it in their body. It is integrative, informed by the latest trauma and neuroscience research, and utilizes techniques commonly associated with EMDR, SE, Hakomi, and IFS. For healing acute, relational, developmental (childhood), and complex trauma (including religious and existential injury). I will give you TOOLS and resources to work with immediately. I will inform you exactly what we are doing and why. I will not provide an unhelpful bandaid, but will help lead you to the heart of the injury when you are ready. I will help YOU access your body's inherent wisdom to heal itself. I will help you integrate that healing into your life. At Healing Phoenix Psychology, I consider both you and I as the healers. Healing can feel like a re birth, just like a phoenix. If you've had trouble with other therapists, never tried it before, or feel unsure, you can schedule a free 15 min. consultation to get to know me or my process, ask questions, or find a referral if it does not feel like a good fit.
