Introduction

We live in incredibly challenging times due to wars, pandemics, climate change, gun violence, religious bigotry, racism/classism/sexism/ableism/ageism and any other -ism you can imagine. How do we begin to navigate a world fraught with such unprecedented events, culminating with so much tragedy that deeply impacts our personal and professional lives? How do we cultivate some sense of safety and restore trust due to broken relationships and deeply, complex traumatic experiences after betrayal and loss? How do we begin to reframe our perspective in response to today's personal and global challenges? How do we cope with intense grief? During our meetings, we will explore some of your life history and presenting issues. I offer guidance to help you identify repressed emotions and unmet needs, and understand and recognize how symptoms of substance use, PTSD, trauma, ADHD, depression, and anxiety affect you. All neurodivergent populations are welcomed and embraced, including ADHD and Autism. Utilizing coping skills, such as reading, nurturing creative expression, and self-reflection, may help restore serenity to your life. Learn how the physiological consequences of trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use, and ADHD impact the body and mind, embrace mindfulness practices to restore serenity, learn to manage symptoms of ADHD, and connect to your creative soul (through art, writing, music, somatic therapy such as yoga, practicing cultural traditions). I also offer ecotherapy sessions for established clients. As a caring, empathic, and compassionate individual, I enjoy providing guidance and mentorship. I am a Bryn Mawr College graduate and published author of a non-fiction book on ADHD (published by Routledge) and several peer-reviewed academic journal articles. I have also taught in academia for a decade and present original studies for national conferences. It is my hope that our sessions help incite thought and self-reflection to address the challenges in your life, as well as reconnect to your creative and beautiful soul!
