Introduction

Dr. Andrea Weisberger is the founder and owner of The Play Therapy Institute of Columbus and adjunct professor at Capital University. Dr. Weisberger worked in a variety of settings before setting out on her own including non-profit executive leadership, school based mental health services, and clinical mental health. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor & Supervisor as well as a Registered Play Therapist. She is currently waiting for approval for her Registered Play Therapy Supervisor application. As the daughter of a counselor, Dr. Weisberger has carried on the “family business” of providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families in Florida, Texas, and Ohio. Dr. Weisberger received her masters at the University of Central Florida and PhD at the University of North Texas, specializing in Play Therapy in both of her programs. Her specialties include mental health counseling with children and adolescents, play therapy, expressive arts, and sandtray therapy. Dr. Weisberger also provided therapy for adults for life transitions, self-esteem, existential grief, and adjustment disorders.
