El Dr. González obtuvo su doctorado en Psicología Clínica en la Universidad Carlos Albizu. Su trasfondo formativo tuvo especial énfasis en evaluaciones neuropsicológicas cumpliendo con las guías y estándares de capacitación recomendadas por el "Houston Conference" para la especialidad en Neuropsicología Clínica. Consecuentemente, el Dr. González completó un "2-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology" en el "Center for Cognitive Neuroscience and Aging, University of Miami - Miller School of Medicine". Su bagaje académico también destaca un compromiso con la investigación científica, que incluye el desarrollo de nuevas herramientas diagnósticas, la neuropsicología multicultural, y la neurociencia cognitiva.
