I am Ehsan Adib Shabahang, founder of AtReef Therapy PLLC in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I provide Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Individual Therapy for clients seeking deeper self-understanding, emotional connection, relationship repair, and meaningful change. I work with couples and individuals who are seeking deeper understanding, emotional connection, and meaningful change. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in repeated conflict, emotional distance, anxiety, betrayal, communication struggles, or patterns they can understand intellectually but have not yet been able to change. My style is warm, direct, structured, and reflective. I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel understood while also being gently challenged to look inward with honesty and compassion. In our work together, we may explore emotional needs, relationship patterns, attachment wounds, self-worth, accountability, communication, trauma, anxiety, and the ways past experiences shape present relationships. Couples therapy is a central part of my practice. I support couples who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, repair after hurt, reconnect emotionally, and better understand what is happening underneath conflict. My approach is informed by Gottman Method Therapy, CBT, DBT, attachment theory, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and my own developing framework, Self-Reflective Relationship Therapy, which emphasizes self-reflection, emotional regulation, inner connection, and relational repair. I also work with individuals who are seeking greater clarity, emotional balance, and self-understanding. Whether you are navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, attachment wounds, trauma, self-worth, or major life transitions, therapy can offer a space to slow down, understand yourself more deeply, and move toward a more intentional way of living. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, honest, and meaningful. Therapy is not about quick fixes or guaranteed outcomes. It is a process of reflection, accountability, growth, and connection.
