Introduction

You may understand why you're struggling and still find yourself repeating the same patterns. Maybe you've tried therapy before, gained valuable insights, and yet something still doesn't feel different. At our practice, we believe meaningful change happens through more than insight alone. We help individuals, couples, and families work through the emotional wounds and relationship patterns that keep them stuck, using approaches grounded in research and tailored to the person(s) sitting with us. --Work With One of My Associates-- I'm fortunate to work alongside three talented associate therapists: Colton Williges, AMFT (858-367-3773), Shanelle Collins, AMFT (858-255-1447), or Sarah Beiruty, AMFT (858-789-2659) for a little over half the cost or less (you can Google them for more info). Each brings their own strengths, warmth, and clinical perspective to our practice, and I provide ongoing supervision and support. If my schedule or fees aren't the right fit, I'd be happy to help you connect with one of them. You may find they're exactly the therapist you're looking for. Our goal isn't simply to help you understand yourself better. It's to help you experience something different, both in therapy and in the relationships that matter most. My team and I specialize in high-impact trauma recovery and relationship repair using EMDR therapy (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/relationship-and-trauma-insights/202007/what-the-heck-is-emdr-therapy-can-it-really-help-me). As a doctoral-level therapist and professor, my team and I provide "emotional surgery:" intensive, research-driven therapy designed to resolve deep-seated wounds rather than just managing symptoms. Many of our clients report measurable, sometimes transformative change in 2-8 sessions (up to 10 to 20+ total; more if there's complex trauma). Dr. Linder is certified, an approved consultant and training facilitator in EMDR, and an advanced practitioner and supervisor in Emotionally Focused Relational Therapies (couple, family and group therapy: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/relationship-and-trauma-insights/202008/what-is-emotionally-focused-relationship-therapy). Whether you are navigating trauma, relationship distress, or identity exploration, my approach is collaborative, confidential, and culturally-attuned. Having lived in Mexico for 4 years, I provide native-level Spanish services. I'm a monthly contributor to Psychology Today, translating complex clinical research into actionable healing strategies for you. Change doesn’t have to take years. If you are tired of "band-aid" therapy and are ready for the deep, focused work required to truly heal; let’s get to work! Your time and access matter. Flexible scheduling and hassle-free payment options mean the transformation and healing process works around you, not the other way around. EMDR can work in ways you wouldn’t imagine, and sometimes at a speed that feels impossible. We are social-justice oriented, LGBTQ+ affirmative, and sex-positive, and adjust our approach to fit your needs, preferences, and finances. We have advanced training in relationships, trauma, immigration and transgender evaluations, and mindfulness (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/experts/jason-n-linder-psyd). Emotional wounds can feel like broken bones, but are very treatable. We work with expert therapists, and are pro-diversity, working with clients of many backgrounds. We know finding the right therapist is an important decision, and we're happy to help you understand your options before scheduling. --Fees & Insurance-- Individual sessions range from $165–$585, and couples/family sessions range from $185–$625, depending on the clinician and service. Sliding-scale options may be available. If Dr. Linder's fees are unaffordable, we have good news! You can work with one of his associates (more info above). If you choose this option, Dr. Linder would be supporting them closely with your case. We are an out-of-network practice and do not bill insurance directly. This is only for PPO plans with out-of-network benefits. PPO plans usually will reimburse somewhere between 40-100 percent after your deductible. Before making an appointment, we recommend checking your mental health out-of-network benefits first to find out if you will receive reimbursement, how much you will receive, and how to submit the receipts we give you.
