Introduction

Your mental well-being is critical to your ability to be productive, build meaningful connections, and enjoy life! Welcome, and thank you for taking the time today to explore if I may be a good fit for your needs. Therapeutic Approach I utilize an interpersonal & humanistic approach, layered with a multicultural lens, understanding that who we are as individuals will interact with the world around us in very distinct and meaningful ways that affects our overall mental health. Therapy begins by getting to know you—your identities, history, challenges, and strengths. Together, we will develop a shared understanding of what brings you to therapy and what you hope to change or develop in the process. Whether you are seeking support for a current concern or exploring experiences from your past, treatment goals and a plan are developed collaboratively and revisited over time to ensure therapy remains responsive to your needs. I bring my personal values of authenticity, kindness and respect to all social connections, including my work as a therapist. You can expect to be greeted and held with warmth, empathy, and compassion for the duration of our time working together. Experience I specialize in working with adults, in both individual and group therapy, who want to strengthen their relationships—with family members, friends, colleagues, and romantic partners. I have significant experience working with people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, as well as with their family members seeking to better understand and support their loved ones. I have offered LGBTQIA+ and Gender Diverse specific groups in the past. I have 25+ years of personal and professional allyship and advocacy with and for this community. I frequently work with young adults, health care professionals, and individuals who are foreign-born or navigating cross-cultural experiences. I offer perinatal services and support for parenting issues. I also support clients experiencing anxiety, stress, and mood-related concerns, helping them develop practical coping strategies while, when appropriate, gently exploring underlying patterns that may be contributing to ongoing difficulties. I am committed to assisting individuals in healing from childhood trauma, abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence, with care and pacing that prioritize emotional safety and choice. About Me After graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, I went on to complete my master's and doctorate degrees in psychology from the School of Professional Psychology at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. I have been licensed as a psychologist in California since 2016 and opened my private practice in 2019. My prior clinical work includes providing assessment and therapy services to children and adolescents in foster care and college students in university counseling centers. I hold a certification in TeleMental Health from the Zur Institute. In addition to my clinical work, I have volunteered with Hospice, AIDS Resource Center (ARC), Safespace programs, and the SoCo Pride Parade. I am the President of the Redwood Psychological Association and a member of the California Psychological Association. I authored the Focused Brief Group Therapy Treatment Manual used globally to enhance the practice of brief therapy groups. I was honored with an Ally Award from PFLAG in 2010.
