Introduction

You’re infinitely sacred because you are alive. I know, it’s easy to forget sometimes. Especially in a hurting world. In a world of pain, how do we know healing? How do we seek healing amidst the violence? Let’s embark on the journey of addressing dysfunction in our lives and choosing peace, wellness, or whatever healing is to you. I’m Dr. Kat (they/them), and I’ve had the honor and privilege to study and practice clinical psychology, alongside the pursuit of knowledge through research and clinical treatment. I utilize evidence based practices in adult individual, couples, and group therapy related to trauma survivorship, health challenges/ chronic illness, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar I and II, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and more. I take an integrative trauma-informed therapeutic approach, drawing upon existential, DBT, CBT, Multicultural Orientation, relational cultural therapy, emotion-focused, ACT, art therapy, and psychodynamic approaches to support us in achieving your treatment goals. Our identities, culture, and values impact how we experience and interact with the world. Quality therapeutic care involves collaboration between client(s) and therapist throughout treatment. While I have the knowledge of therapeutic interventions, you are the expert on your lived experiences. Our task in therapy is to work together to individualize care based on your unique humanhood.
