Introduction

I will walk with you every step of your journey. I will provide a neutral safe space, listen to your concerns, and collaborate with you to create a plan to achieve your couples therapy and/or individual therapy goals. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to enjoy the journey of life. In my clinical practice, I maintain a culturally responsive, strengths-based approach in my work. I value collaboration and believe that trust and safety are the cornerstones of quality therapy. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have worked with people from differing cultures and with diverse ideas about parenting, religion, sexuality, gender identity/expression, marriage, and love. I earned my Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern Mississippi and a PhD in social work from Jackson State University. I have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for use with couples therapy and family therapy. I also completed a certification in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute in Boston, MA and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II (CCTP-II): Complex Trauma from the International Association of Trauma Professionals. I am a EMDIRA Certified Therapist for Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, a trauma therapy intervention to work through traumas. I have also been trained in Somatic Regulation, Trauma Processing, and Attachment-Building (SMART). In addition, I've completed an advanced clinical fellowship on Infant, Early Childhood and Family Mental Health at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I am licensed in the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I can only work with individuals residing in Minnesota due to licensure law.
