Life can be tough, and sometimes we all need a space to feel heard, supported, and understood. I’m Dr. Kristy LaMar, and I offer a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to therapy that meets you where you are. With a PhD in Educational and Counseling Psychology—and my own lived experience as a brain tumor survivor—I bring both clinical knowledge and personal resilience into the work I do with clients. I welcome individuals across the lifespan and create a safe, collaborative space where you can explore life’s challenges, gain clarity, and reconnect with your strengths. My approach is holistic and integrative, drawing from Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exploratory Psychotherapy. I specialize in supporting clients navigating anxiety, stress, health concerns, weight management, grief, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, career questions, and more. Therapy with me is collaborative and personalized—we’ll work at your pace and focus on what matters most to you. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where you feel empowered and understood. Outside of the therapy room, I’m also a published researcher with a focus on media influence, racial identity, and self-efficacy among women of color.
