I’m Dr. Michelle Lopez, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience providing evidence-based therapy to adults navigating a wide range of challenges. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and I specialize in treating the full range of anxiety and stress-related conditions. At the core of my work is a deep commitment to helping clients live a more meaningful, values-driven life. I enjoy supporting clients in learning emotion regulation skills, cultivating healthier relationships, improving communication skills, and navigating life transitions with resilience and strength. Teaching and mentorship have been important parts of my professional journey. I spent nearly a decade teaching undergraduate psychology courses and continue to enjoy giving guest lectures and supporting students and early-career professionals as they enter their chosen field. I enjoy traveling between Palm Desert and San Diego for professional commitments and spending quality time with friends and family. I also enjoy reading, exercising, discovering new music, and watching documentaries—especially those related to health and science. I am particularly interested in cardiovascular and neurological wellness, and I’m always curious to learn more about these areas. At home, life is kept lively by my energetic husband and our two spirited dogs, who are enrolled in their own version of “behavioral therapy" at home. They offer daily reminders of the importance of patience, structure, and a good sense of humor.
