I’m Dr. Niaz Khani, a licensed psychologist in California and New York. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking greater understanding, emotional healing, and more meaningful connection in their lives. My path into psychology was shaped by a deep curiosity about people, relationships, and emotional experience, as well as by my own experience of immigrating to the United States and navigating cultural transitions. Over the years, I’ve worked in community mental health, academic settings, and private practice, which has allowed me to support people from many different backgrounds and life stages. In my work, I help adults, couples, and families navigate relationship challenges, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and long-standing emotional patterns. My approach is relational and intersubjective, meaning I use the therapeutic relationship itself as a space for insight and growth—helping clients better understand how they show up in relationships both inside and outside the therapy room. I deeply value diversity and welcome clients from all walks of life, including LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families. I strive to create a thoughtful, collaborative, and emotionally safe space where clients can move at their own pace and feel supported in making meaningful change. I offer in-person sessions in Santa Monica as well as virtual sessions for clients across California and New York. For more information about my practice and approach, please visit www.drniazkhani.com
