I'm Dr. Onyeisi Stephen Ogbomeh—Dr. Og—a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-C) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice. I provide virtual psychiatric care for all ages across Illinois, Texas, and Wisconsin through my practice, Reassure Health. My story shapes everything about how I care for people. I grew up in poverty in Nigeria, working as a bus conductor and construction laborer as a child just to help my family eat. In 2007, I won the U.S. Visa Lottery and came to America with little more than a dream. I started as a CNA and worked my way up to earn my doctorate—all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I also served as an Active Duty Family Nurse Practitioner in the U.S. Army. After my service, I faced my own battles with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I'm in recovery now, receiving care at my VA hospital. That journey is why I do this work—and why I truly understand what you're going through. I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and memory concerns. My approach is simple: I listen first, treat the whole person, and build a plan together using evidence-based care. Medication when it helps. Therapy when it helps. Always with respect. You don't have to face this alone. Let's walk this journey together.
