HAHTC was founded on August 10, 2019 by Dr. Shaquilla Cooper, DSW, CSA-S, TCM-S, TF-CBT, LCSW-S. Dr. Cooper is a therapist, educator, consultant, and community advocate dedicated to advancing mental wellness, collective healing, and equitable access to care. Dr. Cooper began her social work journey in 2014 after years of informally supporting others through guidance, resources, and emotional care—experiences that led her to pursue professional training in the field. She is a state-certified Targeted Case Manager Supervisor (TCM-S), a Community Support Associate Supervisor (CSA-S), and is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Throughout her career, she has mentored emerging social workers, supervised clinical staff, and partnered with community organizations to expand mental health access and promote holistic wellbeing. Her lifelong mission is to restore hope, strengthen families, and build pathways to wellness for under-resourced communities.
