I am Dr. Tammy White-Jolivette, founder of The Texture of Me® and The Texture of Me Healing™. My work began at the intersection of psychology, textured hair, identity, and healing. With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry and clinical training in mental health, I understand that what we carry emotionally can often show up in how we see ourselves, our appearance, our confidence, and our sense of worth. I specialize in supporting adults who are navigating identity concerns, self-worth, trauma, stress, life transitions, confidence issues, and emotional experiences connected to hair, appearance, culture, and personal identity. I also created the framework of Post Traumatic Hair Syndrome® to help give language to the emotional impact of hair-related experiences, discrimination, shame, hair loss, and beauty standards. Through The Texture of Me Healing™, I provide a safe, supportive, and culturally responsive space where clients can process what they have been carrying, reconnect with themselves, and begin building healthier patterns of self-understanding, confidence, and healing. My goal is to help clients feel seen, supported, and empowered—not just to manage symptoms, but to understand themselves more deeply and move forward with clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
