Introduction

Do you feel alone navigating challenging times? You are not alone. Let's take some time to take care of you. Work, family, finances, health, loss — the stress of everyday life adds up fast, and it's hard to carry alone. Counseling gives you a space to process what you're feeling without judgment. That often means better relationships, real solutions to specific problems, and relief from the weight you've been carrying. As a queer therapist who has served the LGBTQIA+ community for over 20 years, I take a strength-based approach. We'll collaborate and move at your pace toward the goals we set together. Our goal is to help you feel more like yourself again. Online counseling means you can meet from a space that's comfortable for you, with no travel required, and evening appointments are available to fit around your schedule. Rising Tide provides online sessions to adults in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Florida, and Washington. Rising Tide is also home to two graduate counseling interns, who see clients under my clinical supervision. Both offer reduced-fee sessions, which can be a great option if cost is a barrier to getting started. Danielle McBarron Graduate-Level Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern Danielle works with clients navigating neurodivergence, depression, anxiety, burnout, trauma, and religious trauma, drawing on both her professional background in education and her own experience as a late-identified neurodivergent person. Her approach is neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and collaborative, and she's especially passionate about creating a space where clients don't have to mask or explain themselves to get support. Taija-Rae Rodney Graduate-Level Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern Taija-Rae works with children, adolescents, families, and military-connected clients, bringing hands-on experience with early childhood development and a personal understanding of military life as the spouse of a veteran. Her approach is compassionate and client-centered, grounded in creating safe, inclusive spaces for clients of all ages to grow.
