I transitioned into the field of social work after a career in healthcare, following my own diagnosis of a genetic eye disorder in 2016. Experiencing firsthand the frustration of navigating vision-impairment services revealed significant gaps in access and support. Motivated to create meaningful change, I returned to college to gain the education and skills needed to help disabled Americans access the services that enhance independence and quality of life. While my initial focus was disability advocacy, my training broadened my perspective and deepened my commitment to serving diverse populations who also face barriers to high-quality mental health care. I am passionate about providing compassionate, effective support and aspire to obtain certification in EMDR, Child-Centered Play Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care to better serve children, adults, and families.
