Introduction

Life has a way of taking us down unexpected roads. Mine certainly has. I grew up in a low economic area, but I was never just one thing - that never defined me. I was the kid who loved anime, could hang with the athletes, connect with the gamers and nerds, and find common ground with people from all walks of life. Those experiences taught me something that still guides my work today: people are far more complex than the labels they're given, and life is often shaped by the choices we make rather than the circumstances we were born into. Long before I became a therapist, I was the person others turned to when they needed someone to listen. Friends, family, and even acquaintances would often come to me to talk through relationship issues, life struggles, difficult decisions, and personal challenges. I became known as the "therapist friend," and over time I realized that helping people understand themselves and navigate life's challenges wasn't just something I enjoyed—it was something I felt called to do. I guess you could say I took that role personally. My own life experiences have taken me down many different roads and have given me the opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. I understand what it's like to face adversity, question your path, feel misunderstood, and work through difficult decisions. Those experiences allow me to meet clients where they are, without judgment and without assumptions. As a therapist, I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, relationship challenges, and personal growth. My approach is collaborative, authentic, and client-centered. I believe therapy should be a space where you can be completely yourself while developing the tools, insight, and confidence needed to create meaningful change. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Sometimes the most important step is simply having a space where you can be heard, understood, and challenged to grow. Wherever you are in your journey, I'd be honored to walk alongside you. At Dunn Talks Therapy, you'll find a supportive space where real conversations lead to real growth.
