My work is rooted in evidence-based psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. When my clients ask for a mind-body-soul approach, I offer Brainspotting Therapy. This innovative therapeutic modality was founded by Dr. David Grand has shown transformational and long lasting healing results in clients. The core principle of Brainspotting is that "where you look affects how you feel" and certain eye positions can access, process, and clear out negative experiences that are located in the subcortical brain. Dr. Grand explained: "Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. There is no replacement for a mature, nurturing therapeutic presence and the ability to engage another suffering human in a safe and trusting relationship where they feel heard, accepted, and understood." If you're curious to find out more about this highly effective therapy, please ask me and I'd be happy to chat more.
