Hello! Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. I am a psychologist specializing in anxiety, depression, and relationship issues in adults. I view therapy as a process of gaining insight into the whole person, and the factors that have led to the present. Gaining understanding about the past allows for looking clearly at the present, and looking intentionally towards the future, in identifying what is most important for you in your life, connecting with your authentic values, and working toward living a life that is aligned with those values. My work is rooted in Attachment Theory and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This approach allows us to look back at your early experiences to better understand how they continue to influence you, and also to develop the skills to manage the challenging things (painful feelings, difficult thoughts, problematic behaviors, etc.) more effectively. I view therapy as a collaborative journey; to use a metaphor from Russ Harris, “like two rock climbers on opposite rocks, there are things I might be able to see from where I stand that you may not be able to see – not because I am all wise, just because I am standing in a different place” (Harris, 2007). If this resonates, call or email for a consultation.
