Hello! I’m Dr. Elise Anderson, a psychiatrist dedicated to helping people live fuller, healthier lives through thoughtful and personalized mental health care. My passion for psychiatry started early. I worked as a support staff in a psychiatric office on and off for over 10 years, beginning in my teens. Those years gave me a close up view of the power of quality mental health treatment and the importance of compassionate care. That experience ultimately shaped my path to medical school and my decision to specialize in psychiatry. I earned my undergraduate degree at Albion College and went on to attend Wayne State University School of Medicine. I completed my psychiatric residency at Pine Rest in Grand Rapids, where I received in-depth training in both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy across diverse clinical settings. In my current practice, I focus on personalized medication management, often paired with supportive therapy within our sessions. I value open communication and collaborative decision-making, ensuring your treatment plan aligns with your goals and lifestyle. My areas of special interest include: • Perinatal and postpartum mental health • Trauma/PTSD • Mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, etc.) • Lifestyle medicine (nonpharmacological options for improving mental health) • Mental health care for LGBTQ+ individuals • People with disabilities I aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all clients feel seen, respected, and supported. Whether you're navigating a new diagnosis, exploring treatment options, or simply looking for a psychiatrist who truly listens, I'm here to partner with you in your journey toward wellness.
